Brocker I 715 Political Representation/Foucault: thesis: the masses are perfectly capable of speaking for themselves; they do not need intellectuals to gain knowledge about their situation. Many are more likely to have their discourses banned and devalued by the power systems. According to Foucault, intellectuals themselves are part of existing power configurations, which is why their task is to fight those forms of power that have transformed them into an object and instrument of power.
